Famous american rapper JAY-Z’s new book decoded has been marketed in a very succesful combined guerilla and on-line campaign called decode JAY-Z. Each of the 320 pages of the book has been printed upon various media in the coolest areas of the american landscape. From the bottom of the legendary Miami design hotel Delano to billboards around the largest american cities to the side of a cadillac and the front of a guitar at a famous musicshop. Guerilla version 2.0, I must say dear jay. But that’s not all. At http://bing.decodejay-z.com/?fbid=ORVQVl3itrW&wom=false fans could upload and share their findings of the pages and off course share everything on facebook. I guess it’s only an openminded rapper, a lover of disruptive thinking with an enormous amount of change capacity who at the same time is reinventing his brand identity who would go for this now very complex and effectful campaign. Need I say at the sime time a very, very succesful businessman at the same time. What about you? How would you have reacted to this idea. Too complex? Can’t be done? What else do you have? Let’s go for something more normal? Guys you need to simplify?
